When I was young girl, my grandmother and I coined a phrased that we would say to each other when things were getting rough:
How Good Can You Stand It?
HGCYSI for short.
The older I have gotten, the more pertinent this phrase has become.
As humans, we tend to have a lot of guilt about our blessings or the fear of good times not lasting. We've been taught not to trust that what we want will come to us, or indeed, that our wanting is bad.
We even have a phrase for fear - "be careful what you wish for."
But what if you released this limiting belief for yourself? What if you didn't have to be afraid? What if you got to enjoy every single thing in your life with pure joy, without guilt?
Asking yourself, "how good can you stand it?" is a helpful way of reminding yourself that while you may have been born into life with a set of limiting beliefs bestowed upon you, the only one who continues to keep yourself stuck in your limiting beliefs is... you.
And fortunately, you can change this for yourself. You can allow in the good. Reflect upon the idea that it is safe for you to enjoy your life and have fun continuously pour into your experience. Sit with this notion, address any limiting beliefs that arise, and breathe.
